Our Churches over Easter

We are delighted to be able to open our churches in April for some services:

2nd - Good Friday

10.30 am - Good Friday Service at St. Barnabas

2.00 pm - An Hour by the Cross at St. John’s

4th - Easter Sunday

9.15 am - Family Communion at St. Barnabas

18th - The Third Sunday of Easter

9.15 am - Holy Communion at St. Barnabas

25th - The Fourth Sunday of Easter

11.00 am - Holy Communion at St. John’s

Although most of us will have had at least our first jab, nevertheless we shall still be practising Covid-safe regulations, with the wearing of masks, hand sanitising and social distancing, and unfortunately we still won’t be able to sing in church (but the organ will be playing some of our favorite Easter hymns).

It will be so good to be able to meet together again for worship, so we look forward to seeing you soon.

Welcome to the home of

St John the Evangelist and St Barnabas

Our two churches make up the Parish of Holdenhurst in Bournemouth, England.

Though linked for many years the two churches appear very different. Contrasting the historic church of St Johns in the small village of Holdenhurst, which was mentioned in the Doomsday book, with the modern building of St Barnabas which was built in the 1960's.

Although different on the outside, the welcome you'll receive inside is always warm and friendly!
